Rabbi Janet Bieber, has served the Southern California Jewish Community as an educator, chaplain, counselor and Cantor for over 25 years.
In 2005 she received Smicha from the Academy for Jewish Religion. For five years she served at the Jewish Home for the Aging in San Diego as Rabbi, Cantor and Administrator of all Jewish programs and religious services.
Rabbi Janet holds a masters degree in Jewish Education from the University of Judaism and has taught over 400 children and adult B’nei mitzvah privately and in classes.
She has performed numerous concerts in Hebrew and English, with Yiddish Songs as her specialty and is currently working on integrating English into the Yiddish text to preserve the sound of the Yiddish while making it accessible to those who don’t speak it.
Her CD, Kol Isha: The Voice of a Jewish Woman, consists mostly of Yiddish music and includes two original compositions.
