Hanukkah

Festival of Lights

Dear BTEE Community,

We’ve almost made it to the end of 2020. And what a year it has been! While we won’t be able to celebrate Hanukkah in person, we will be celebrating it together, virtually. We have a wide variety of programming, services, and opportunities coming up in the month of December, including:

  • Adult Learning: Join us for three weeks of discussion with our clergy team. Our Jewish Journeys: with Rabbi Tsafi Lev, Kohenet Miki Raver, and Ritual Director Danny Chodos. Tuesdays, December 1, 8 and 15

  • Hannukah Candle Lighting: Four different opportunities to join our community in virtual candle lightings.

  • Hanukkah in a Bag Kit: Includes candles, gelt, dreidels, blessings, and the clay and materials to make your own menorah/hanukkiah. Order by Sunday December 6 and pick up on December 4 or 11 (ccohen@btee.org).

  • Kalkin Garden Groundbreaking: Our campaign to upgrade our courtyard "The Kalkin Family Friendship Garden" is underway! Thanks to a generous donation from the Kalkin family in memory of Jonathan Kalkin, we are going to break ground on December 13 with official construction beginning in early January.

  • Buy a Brick Campaign. Your family name can become a permanent part of our facility by purchasing a customized brick that will be part of our new Kalkin Garden. This is a great way to commemorate special events, including living through this period of time! The bricks also make great Hanukkah gifts and are a tax-deductible donation. All bricks must be purchased by December 21 in order to be placed in the courtyard. https://4everbricks.com/donors/btee/

  • Rosh Chodesh: Join Kohenet Miki Raver as we explore the meaning of the month of Tevet and receive soul guidance from Shekhinah (Divine Presence).

Happy Hannukah to you and your families. Our community welcomes people from diverse backgrounds and points of view to join our events and learn from each other. Thank you to all members of BTEE for your continued dedication and support in strengthening this community.

Sincerely,
Limor and Lauren
